Pinterest is open to the “general public”

September 27, 2012

For those of you still considering Pinterest, it is now open to everyone.  When you go to their website, you can now log in with your facebook or Twitter account.  This is an efficient way to share all your information in one session!

Understand the strengths of each media.  Don’t post for the sake of posting…make sure what  you’re sharing on Pinterest is something you truly enjoy, part of your lifestyle, or something you’d recommend.

Pinterest posts should go to the source website, not someone else’s pin.  Have your own comments in the post…it makes it more personal, useful.  Make sure you acknowledge the artist/writer/creator in your post.  They’ll appreciate it.  Use words that can be discovered in a search engine.  This is called SEO (search engine optimization).

You can also make your own categories…it’s best to have a dozen categories rather than having everything posted on one board.  You’ll attract more followers.
